What Animal Is Making This Disturbing Sound?

What do you think it is?
My son and I were chilling on our oversized bean bag, the only sitting apparatus we have in our London flat so far, when we heard the most unusual, frightening sound coming from outside. We paused The Big Nailed It! Baking Challenge and rushed to the window as soon as we could free ourselves from what felt like a giant quicksand pillow, or what people over thirty-five would call “hell.”
We slid the window open and listened to the racket below. It was dark, except for the cast iron street lamp shining minimal light on the sidewalk. For a brief moment, I thought we’d been transported to the Pride Lands, where three hyenas were about to pounce on two lion cubs and a red-billed hornbill named Zazu. This was impossible, of course. The trees in the gated park below concealed the creature (or creatures). All we could do was rely on our hearing.
