What’s this newsletter about?
I go through phases where I become really fixated on something. Like 1960s Jell-O desserts. Peacock chairs. A character on a TV show. Sometimes it’s unresolved issues. Or completely unattainable and outrageous goals, like that time my mission was to meet Joan Rivers.
I call these fixations-slash-passions my obsessions. Obsessions serve a purpose. When we connect the dots and understand why we are obsessed with something (or someone), we get to know ourselves and the world around us better.
Here’s what you can expect from this newsletter:
explorations of current and past obsessions
humor essays
life writing
interviews
poetry
Who’s writing this?
I’m a writer interested in exploring and understanding the Self through obsessions. I’m a French Canadian living in Montréal with my husband and kid. I love reading, especially memoirs. I’m a fan of Star Trek. My favourite TV character is Moira Rose from Schitt’s Creek. I suspect I may have been a diva in a past life. This might explain why I love Elizabeth Taylor so much. When I’m not busy parenting, you can find me writing or tending to one of my obsessions.
